Sir,
I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the
1st June 1897 No.9918/97 relative to the scheme for the
Extension of the Dockyard at Hong Kong, and to acquaint
you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the
Colonies, that My Lords agree that both the Murray Pier Road
and Arsenal Street shall be widened to 75 feet, and that
the width of land required for widening the Murray Pier
Road shall be provided by cutting off a piece of the ground
attached to the North Barracks, and not by cutting off any
portion of the Cricket Ground.
